Three Gorges Tribe Recognized as AAAAA Scenic Area

On May 12th , Three Gorges Tribe Scenic Area has been recognized as the 5A scenic area by National Tourism Landscape Quality Evaluation Committee. It is the third 5A scenic area after Three Gorges Dam and Yellow Crane Tower Scenic Area in Hubei Province.

According to the Three Gorges Dam Tourism Development Group President Pu Jianxin, Three Gorges Tribe Scenic Area is the youngest national AAAAA Scenic Areas. In the past two years, the traffic, facilities, services, folk culture presentation and ecological environment protection have a significant upgrad.

The General Manager Liu Jia of Three Gorges Dam Tourism Development Group said that the number of visitors have reached one million last year and have grown substantially this year. At the beginning of July, there will be a shortcut to connect Three Gorges Dam and Three Gorges Tribe and the visitors can enjoy the two AAAAA scenic area at the same time.

Three Gorges Tribe Scenic Area situated in the hinterland of Xiling Gorge which is the most fantastic gorge of Three Gorges. The Scenic Area is between the world famous Three Gorges Dam and Gezhouba Dam, across the two sides of the beautiful Lantern Shadow Gorge. In the scenic area there are rapids, grotesque rocks, serene valley, unique cave and sweet springs. Longjin Stream, the World Fourth Spring, Yepo Hill, Lantern Shadow Cave, Anti-Japanese War Memorial Hall, Shipai Ancient Town, Yangjia Streamt consist Three Gorges Tribe Scenic Area. Li Bai, Ouyang Xiu, Huang Tingjian, Lu You and other famous men of letters have indulged in the gorgeous scenery and wrote down many beautiful poems.
