Three Gorges Scenic Spots Attracted 1.37 Million Visitors during National Day Week

It is reported that Yichang City has totally received 1.37 million visitors during the National Day golden week. The number of visitors increased 33 percent compared to the number of the same period in last year. Yichang City has achieved a total tourism revenue of 0.71 billion RMB and that has increased 39.7 percent compared to the revenue of last National Day golden week. Both the visitors and revenue created a new record in history.

The number of visitors grew rapidly after October 3 since the days became bright and sunny after October 4 during the golden week. Three Gorges Dam had created a new record in history – it has received 26500 visitors on October 4. Three Gorges Tribe Scenic Area received 16000 visitors on this day and also created a new record.

According to the statistics provided by Yichang Holiday Office, the main scenic spots in Yichang: Three Gorges Dam received 104100 visitors and that is increased 4 percent compared to the same period of last year; Three Gorges Tribe Scenic Area received 16000 visitors and that is increased 28.7 percent compared to the same period of last year; Qingjiang River Art Gallery received 87900 visitors and that is increased 19.8 percent compared to the same period of last year.

We learned from Xiling Gorge Narrows Scenic Area that the entrance ticket takes most part of the tourism revenue during the National Day golden week. The revenue of the supporting infrastructures (such as the restaurants and hotels) increased obviously. Almost half of the visitors are from other provinces. Most of them stayed in Yichang for one day and spent about 1000 RMB here.
