Three Gorges Dam Received Over 0.11 Million Visitors during National Day Week

We learned from China Three Gorges Corporation that Three Gorges Dam received more than 0.11 million visitors during the latest National Day golden week. The number of visitors increased about 10000 compared to the same period of last year. Three Gorges Dam Scenic Area has earned 7.34 million RMB.

According to Three Gorges Tourism Development Company, a large number of visitors chose to tour Three Gorges Dam by their private cars. The number of self-drive tourists increased 30 percent compared to the same period of last year. There were even 1100 cars and buses from all over the country at the peak hours.

Manager of Three Gorges Tourism Development Company – Cao Yanping said that Three Gorges Dam Scenic Area did enough publicity and advertisement work before the National Day. They also carried out the self-help card of Three Gorges Dam. The self-drive visitors could enjoy their tour freely with the card. The "mirror-like lake arises from high gorges" landscape during the 175 meters experimental water storage adds more charm to Three Gorges Dam Scenic Area.

It is reported that the number of visitors visited Three Gorges Dam from Yangtze cruise ships increased by 20 percent compared to the same period of last year. There are new Yangtze cruise ships put into operation both at Chongqing and Yichang. These cruise ships provide visitors with various tourism routes. The rich scenic spots attracted visitors both at home and abroad.
