Three Gorges Dam Has Received 1 Million Visitors Ahead of Schedule

Three Gorges Dam Scenic Area has received 1 million visitors ahead of schedule this year, demonstrating a 0.23 million year-on-year increase according to the latest statistics provided by Three Gorges Tourism Department. In which the waterway market totally increases by 154.6% and the land-route market totally increases by 51.2%. Both of them reach an all-time high.

It is reported that Three Gorges Dam Scenic Area held various forms of promotion in some visitor-source cities (such as Wuhan, Changsha, Yueyang and Hefei) successively since June this year. Recently, the Scenic Area brought out the Panoramic Tour – visitors could appreciate the amazing landscape ("a huge lake arises amid mountains") of Three Gorges by ship and visit the Cultural Scenic Spot of Qu Yuan's Hometown after they enjoyed the landscape under Three Gorges Dam. Panoramic Tour managed to merge the natural landscape and cultural landscape of Three Gorges, which made the real One-stop Tour available for visitors.

According to the Assistant Manager of the marketing department of Three Gorges Development Limited Company, the Panoramic Tour includes Tanziling Scenic Spot, 185 View Deck, Dam Memorial Park, Sightseeing on Cruise Ship, Qu Yuan's Hometown – Zigui and Jiuwan Stream Drifting. Ten newly manufactured deluxe cruise ships will put into operation in October this year.

We learned that the total number of visitors of Three Gorges Dam broke through 1.5 million firstly last year. The Scenic Area aims at receiving 1.75 million visitors this year.
