Maximum Draft Mark of the Vessels through Three Gorges Ship Lock was Up-regulated

The 175 meters experimental water storage of Three Gorges Reservoir is advancing steadily. With the help of the autumn flood, the water level of the upper reaches of Three Gorges Dam keeps rising recent days. The water level upper Three Gorges Dam reached 167.48 meters. The Three Gorges Navigation Administration up-regulate the maximum draft mark of the vessels through the five-stage ship lock of Three Gorges Dam. The draft mark has been up-regulated from 4.0 meters to 4.2 meters. The up-regulation of the draft mark will allow the vessels a bigger capacity and promote the navigation efficiency and profit.

To make full use of the water resources advantage of Three Gorges, and develop the draft mark potential to promote the vessels' operation efficiency and profitability. After Three Gorges Navigation Administration combined their relevant research results with the minimum water depth of the ship lock, they decided to up-regulate the vessels' maximum draft mark from 4.0 meters to 4.2 meters. Three Gorges Navigation Administration also put the latest news on their official government affairs website to inform the public.

The water level of Three Gorges Reservoir Area will keep rising till 175 meters during its experimental water storage. Three Gorges Navigation Administration reminds the relevant companies to pay close attention to the latest navigation information so as to organize the transportation of their vessels reasonably. To ensure the navigation safety during the experimental water storage, relevant departments would also strengthen their supervision and regulation of the vessels on Three Gorges subject to the change of the navigation condition.
