Yangtze River Weather – Wind and Frost

The wind and frost in Yangtze River area are important factors of Yangtze River weather. In the Yangtze River area, the windy days and frost days of every district will appear in different season.

Yangtze River Weather – Wind

There are three districts with more windy days in the Yangtze River area. The first one is the area before Jinsha River crossing, where the annual windy days can reach 100 days. In this area, the annual windy days of Tuotuo River Station is 125 days, and this windy area stretches to the downstream of Yarlung River, while the windy days decrease to 40 days from 100 days. The second one is Xingjiang River windy area, where the annual windy days are between 10 days and 20 days. The third one is the downstream of the Yangtze River, the Yangtze River passage from Boyang Lake area to Nanjing, where the annual windy days are between 10 days and 25 days. in the Yangtze River area, the districts with less windy days are the area from Sichuan Basin to east of Yunnan-Kweichow Plateau, where the annual windy days only have 1 to 5 days; the Enshi Area, where the annual windy days are less than 1 day; and the area of Ganjiang River, Xiushui, where the annual windy days is 2 or 3 days. The windy days of middle and down stream of the Yangtze River are almost in spring and summer, while other districts in spring.

Yangtze River Weather – Frost

In the whole Yangtze River, the most frost days area is located in Western Sichuan Plateau, the upstream of Yarlung River and upstream of Dadu River, can reach 150 days. In this area, the annual frost days of Seda Station, Sichuan Province reached 228.3 days, which is the area with most frost days in the Yangtze River Basin. The annual frost days in Tongtian River area is between 100 and 200 days, in the area from Jingsha River to Rongde, Kunning, Huili, Yanyuan is between 70 and 100 days, in Hanjiang River area, and downstream of the Yangtze River is between 50 days and 70 days. The area with less annual frost days is the Sichuan Basin. The annual frost days of Yunnan-Kweichow, Dongting Lake area, upstream and midstream of Ganjiang River are less than 25 days. In this area, the annual frost days of Yuanmou Station in Yunnan area are just 2 days, and the Luzhou in Sichuan Province is just 2.5 days. These two districts are the areas with least frog days in the whole Yangtze River. The west plateau of the Yangtze River only will appear frost days in four seasons, while other districts only appear frost from October to April in next year.
