With the introducing of "travel the Three Gorges by land", the way of visiting the Lesser Three Gorges is quietly changing. The reporter understands from Chongqing Transportation Travel Group, after more than a year of construction, the plank road from Luojiazhai to Maduhe alongside the cliff of the Lesser Three Gorges in Wushan County would open to the visitors early this month. The visitors can enjoy the great beauty of the Lesser Three Gorges while taking a walk on the plank road.

In the interview, the reporter learned that with the accomplishment of Three Gorges Dam and the rising of the water level in Three Gorges Reservoir Area, the site of the plank road alongside the cliff of Lesser Three Gorges on  Daning River would be submerged and become a historical site under water. To reproduce the past beauty and the historical memory, Three Gorges Company- part of Chongqing Transportation Travel Group focuses on making Lesser Three Gorges a world-class comprehensive tourist attraction which gathers the gorges scenery, glass plank road, erosive and karst wonders, and harmonious ecological park. They invested 35 million RMB in the reconstruction of the plank road from Luojiazhai to Maduhe started on January 18 last year.

It is said that the reappearance of the plank road alongside Lesser Three Gorges not only restored a historical site but also changed the long lasted boat-tripping of Lesser Three Gorges and strengthened the appeal of the site as well as enriched the visitors' trip.

Leaders of the Three Gorges Company indicated that the open of the plank road is in line with their concept of "travel the Three Gorges by land". The visitors could enjoy the beauty of Lesser Three Gorges by walk instead of by ship and could appreciate the charm of Lesser Three Gorges at first hand.
