Observation Escalators of Tanziling Scenic Area

There are two 114 meters long observation escalators in Tanziling Scenic Area of Three Gorges Dam which will do their test run on April 28th and will open to the public on May 3th. At that time the visitors can reach Tanziling Scenic Area by the escalators.

These two observation escalators built against the mountain started at the 196 meters platform which can take the visitors to Tanziling Scenic Area directly. The escalators consists of three parts, the first part is 34 meters, the second and third parts are both 40 meters long, the vertical throw reaches 45 meters. Thyssen Krupp designed those observation escalators which can operate all day long in open air as well as transport 11700 tourists per hour. The visitors can overlook the main body of Three Gorges Dam and the five-grade ship lock.

The project of the two observation escalators of Tanziling Scenic Area in order to change the original two-way route into one-way which can avoid the potential safety hazard from Tanziling to 185 meters platform, forming a one-way cirbular make the traffic more safe.
