New Wushan County

On June 8, the construction of China's outstanding tourist city - new Wushan County has begun. As the deputy secretary of the county Zheng Ping solemnly declared that the construction of new Wushan County officially started. The roaring of two excavators opened the prelude to the construction of this new county.

The development of new Wushan County is a major strategic decision made by Chongqing government. And it was highly supported by the people's congress of the county. This major initiative sped up the urbanization process and reflected the common aspiration of the people of Wushan County.

The new county is located in the immigrant village northwest of Longjing Town, Baiquan and Shili village. It is only 10 kilometers to Wushan airport. Expected to invest over $ 3 billion, occupies a ground space of 2 square kilometers. About 5 years later, there will be build up a set of cultural, commercial, residential and livable new county which can accommodate 2.5 million people. By then, the construction area of Wushan County will expand to 7.5 square kilometers; the population will reach at 13 million. Wushan county government asked the relevant departments to fully cooperate with the new county construction project. And the construction unit should pay close attention to the quality in order to give rise to the outstanding tourist city.

Since the new Wushan County Administrative Committee has been formally established, it has been organizing and coordinating the Longjiang Town, County Construction Committee, Land and Resources Bureau and Public Security Bureau of the county to create the re-settlers' documents and to curb the unauthorized construction. Moreover they formulated a "compensation for land acquisition and resettlement plan" which has been approved by the county government. Besides, they have completed the demarcation and geological disasters evaluation work and expropriated 66 acres of land.

New Wushan County is actively seeking to the migration method of the 500,000 volt high- voltage wire. County Construction Committee has hired Urban Planning and Design Institute of Chongqing University to make a detailed plan and the preliminary results is being perfected.

According to the market operation mode, the committee has incorporated "Longsheng Construction & Development Co., Ltd of Wushan County" which is working the financing matters with the related bank. At present, the new county construction project is gradually towards the standardization.
