Drum-beating Terrace

Beside the Xiling Gorge, there is a cylindrical stone platform, standing at the riverside with the diameter of about 8 meters. Above the platform there is a statue of Zhang Fei who is beating drum. It is said that stone platform is the site where Zhang Fei beat the drum (AD221 - AD223).

Zhang Fei is a valiant general of Shu State of the Three Kingdoms, and he is one of the three sworn brothers of Liu Bei (the king of Shu State). It is said that Zhang Fei once beat the drum here to scare away the enemy and make sure the safety of Liu Bei.
