Dicui Gorge

Dicui Gorge is the longest and the most beautiful gorge of Lesser Three Gorges. Dicui Gorge is also known as Huangyan Gorge. Stretch from the Cloud Cave to the Water-curtain Cave. The total length of gorge is twenty kilometers. There are steep cliffs, dense forest, waterfalls and splashing jade-like water beads on both sides of Dicui Gorge. The people will have an incredible fresh feeling while wandering in the gorge.

The main landscapes of Dicui Gorge are: Water Curtain Cave, Banana Forest, Grottoes, Tianquan Waterfall, Sheep Cliff, Red Cliff Skyscraper, Suspending Coffin, Double Eagles on the Screen,Feiyun Cave etc. The beauty of Lesser Three Gorges is fully display in Dicui Gorge.

Water-curtain Cave of Dicui Gorge

When you entered Dicui Gorge, you could see a cave on the western bank of the cliff, it's about 10 meters deep. There is a clear spring come out from the cave flows on the shell-like stalactites twinkling like silver silk. In summer, there would be a 5 or 6 meters long waterfall.

Grottos of Dicui Gorge

The Grottos also known as Arhat Hall. It is 1kilometer away from Water-curtain Cave. The grottos are 30 meters above the water, 3 meters high and 6 meters wide. The plants, moss and water traces pervaded of on the rock making of many interesting images. It seems like hundreds of arhats sitting together and the arhats are in all kinds of poses.

Rainfall of the Heavenly Spring of Dicui Gorge

1km upstream from the Arhat Hall, on the east bank cliff. There is a flying spring, several hundred meters high. The spring turns into rainfall into the air create a misty fairyland.

Luojia Village Site of Dicui Gorge

Next to "Rainfall of Heavenly Spring", there is about 80 meters high, 400 meters long, stone wall built against the rock. This village was built during the Jia Qing Period, Qing Dynasty. It was named after a famous gentleman, Mr. Luo.

Red Cliff Skyscraper of Dicui Gorge

At the end of the Dicui Gorge, there is a one hundred feet cliff, towering into the air. Under the sunshine, this huge red cliff become more magnificent.

Ship Coffin Site of Dicui Gorge

Above Red Cliff Skyscraper, there is a rock cave. In the cave there deposed a black boat. Actually, it is a way of Suspending Coffin, known as "ship coffin burial".

Double Eagles on the Screen of Dicui Gorge

It is not far from the Red Cliff Skyscraper, there is a hundred feet high mountain, five to six hundred meters wide peak which looks like a huge screen. Before the screen there are two peaks on the left and right. It is incredible that the two peaks naturally occurring like two eagles.

Feiyun Cave of Dicui Gorge

Feiyun Cave is the last scenic spot of Dicui Gorge and Lesser Three Gorges which located in the west bank of the gorge. Away from the water about 100 meters, there is a cave on the cliff shrouded in mist and cloud. At one side of the cave there is a perennial small waterfall. The cave is about 10 meters high with two stone gates and inscriptions on it which dates back to Qing Dynasty. The area inside the cave is very large, it can hold thousands of people.

The hydrological period of Three Gorges is the best travel season. At this time the visitors can fully enjoy the beautiful scenery of the Three Gorges and only at this, it is available to sail on the river of the Lesser Three Gorges and Mini Three Gorges.

Transportation of Dicui Gorge

Take the high-speed boat, after 8 houres it we arrive at Wushan, transfter to the bus about 3 hours we arrive at Long Men wharf of Lesser Three Gorges. The ships on the Yangtze River are all berth at the Wushan Wharf. Every day there are ships heading to Shuanglong and Dachang. Daning River also offers the tourists the "willow boat", if the time is not sufficient, the best way is take the motor boat.
