Chongqing Hot Pot

Three Gorges stretches from White Emperor City in Chongqing to Nanjin Pass in Hubei Province. There are many scenic spots along Three Gorges. There are also many delicious food in the scenic spots. It is easy to find hot pot restaurants in Chongqing.

Chongqing Boiled Fish

The boiled fish is another special food in Chongqing. It is also known as "the fish in the river boiled by the water of the river". If it is a Sichuan-style restaurant, no matter it is big or small, the boiled fish is available there. Even some of the roadside kitchens and the sidewalk snack booth would take the boiled dish as their main course. The boiled fish has a history of just ten or more years. It was originated from Yubei District of Chongqing. There are many flavors of boiled fish, such as the light soup, the spicy soup and the tomato soup. There would be a lot of hot pepper and Chinese prickly ash in the spicy soup. The soup smells good, the meat is springy, and it is really fresh and tasty.

Steamed Wuchang Fish

Steamed Wuchang Fish is one of the Two Famous Dishes of Hubei Province. Wuchang Fish got its name for it was originated in Liangzi Lake of Wuchang. It is a diamond-shaped fish with small head and long body. It is praised as a rare delicacy since it has rich fat and fresh taste. It is also very nutritious. With the development of the times the cooking ways of Wuchang Fish are improved. But the Steamed Wuchang Fish is the most traditional, popular and delicious dish.

Mianyang Three Steamed Dishes

Mianyang was honored as “County of Steamed Dishes”. There is a custom of “steam all the ingredients” in Mianyang Area. It is said that the steamed dishes here could be dated back to late Yuan Dynasty. Generally, the Three Steamed Dishes refers to Steamed Meat, Steamed Fish and Steamed Vegetables. Among which the Steamed River Snail is the most popular and delicious dish. The Steamed Dishes is very popular among local people and visitors since it retains the original tastes of the ingredients.
