Emperor's City and Millstone Stockade of Wanzhou District are called Big and Small Stone City.

Big and Small Stone City - Emperor's City

Emperor's City is also named Tiansheng City. It is an isolated towering peak with axe-cutting walls and only through the way cross the gate of the stockade could you arrive at the stockade. It is in the line of Eight Sceneries of Wanzhou County. It is said that Liu Bei (Emperor of Shu) and his troops stationed here while he started the war with Wu in Three Kingdoms Period, hence it was named Emperor's City.

Big and Small Stone City - Millstone Stockade

Millstone Stockade is located in the new town city of Yunyang County. It was named Panshi City, and also named Small Stone City. It was constructed on a giant rock. The terrain here is very steep, and it is a place of vital military importance in ancient times. It was built in Southern Song Dynasty. According to the record, General Yu Ceng of Song Dynasty leaded people here to fight against the enemy; he constructed the city along the steep mountain and giant rock. Later the city became one of the fifteen cities in Shu Area.

Tips for Visiting Big and Small Stone City

Big and Small Stone City is one of the spots of Scientific Expedition Tourism Area in Wanzhou District. There are a lot of ships and buses for communication between Wanzhou District and Chongqing city. There are also buses for communication between Wanzhou District and its surrounding scenic spots.
