Attractions of Nanjing Yangtze River Bridge – Bridge Parks

There is a park on both banks of the river under Nanjing Yangtze River Bridge. Each of the park covers an area about 20 hectares. Various plants were cultivated in the parks and there are elevators which could lift you up to the bridgeheads from the parks. There are exhibition halls displaying the history of the bridge in the Southern Bridgehead Park in the south bank of Nanjing Yangtze River Bridge. The two parks make Nanjing Yangtze River Bridge more magnificent and beautiful.

Attractions of Nanjing Yangtze River Bridge – Bridgeheads

There is a pair of bridgeheads on both ends of Nanjing Yangtze River Bridge. Each bridgehead is 70 meters high with three Five-star Red Flags. There is a 10 meters high five-people statue in front of each bridgehead. The five people are the representatives of workers, peasants, soldiers, students and businessmen. There are also relief sculptures around the body of the bridgeheads, such as "Long love of the great unity of the people in the world". The bridgeheads had been one of the city symbols of Nanjing. The bridgeheads of Nanjing Yangtze River Bridge are famous scenic spots of Nanjing till today.

Attractions of Nanjing Yangtze River Bridge – Relief Sculptures

Nanjing Yangtze River Bridge was listed as one of the top 40 scenic spots of Nanjing. There are 202 relief sculptures on the balustrades of the bridge. Among which 100 of them are sunflower hollow relief sculptures, 96 of them are landscape relief sculptures and the left 6 are national emblem relief sculptures. Among the 96 landscape relief sculptures, 20 of them present different landscapes of China and the great achievements of socialist China.

Nanjing Yangtze River Bridge looks really magnificent and beautiful in the night. There are 150 pairs of white magnolia flower – shaped street lights standing on the bridge. The shinning lights make the profile of the bridge clear and charming, just like a rainbow arched across the sky.
